The only game to survive the weather in the Ashford Sunday Football League at the weekend was Newchurch’s home Division 3 clash with William Harvey Inn.

Newchurch took the points with Sam Allaway, Gavin Prowse, Greg Hitchman and Nathan Riddle all finding the back of the net in a 4-2 win. Alan Stirling and Paul Ovenden replied for William Harvey Inn.

The victory lifted Newchurch up into second spot, one point clear of Brewmaster Reserves but still 10 adrift of runaway leaders Shadoxhurst.
