ASHFORD and District Road Runners are inviting entries for their annual 10k road race taking on Sunday, February 8.

It will be the 16th running of the event which starts at 11am. It generally attracts a loyal following which means the race limit of 500 is nearly always filled. The event will start at 11am.

Main sponsors are again the Park Mall shopping centre and Sweatshop with backing from County Square, Great Chart Golf and Leisure, Campbell Grocery Products, Invicta Roadsters, Mayfair Enterprise, Isospa Health Club, Park Farm and Mid Kent Water.

A memento of the race is awarded to all finishers who also receive a pick-me-up of a Pasta ’n’ Sauce sachet.

There are trophies for the top three men and women, top veterans, superveterans and juniors (under-18) plus top men’s and women’s teams (three to count). There is also an award for the oldest man and woman to finish.

Entry is £7 for affiliated club runners and £8 for non-affiliated runners while entries on the day may be available at £9 but will not count towards the prizes.
