Ashford United have made two new signings but three other players have left the club.
Top scorer Danny Parish announced his departure on Twitter while Toby Ajala and John Coker have secured moves into National League South.
However, a new deal has been agreed with Jerald Aboagye while the Nuts & Bolts have brought in midfielder Zak Henry and forward Brandon McCarthy.
Manager Tommy Warrilow said: "I got a call from one of my ex-players about the lad Brandon who was over at Sutton banging in goals for their reserves.
"He went on loan to Egham and got something like 14 goals in 18 games.
"He’s hungry and raw so I said ‘get him in’ because it’s like a breath of fresh air having someone say that instead of talking about money.
"I sat down and had a good chat with Jerald and I'm really pleased he’s staying.
"I’ve brought Zak Henry in, a busy midfielder who started last season at Cray and ended up at Grays.
"I’m speaking to a centre-half and a centre-forward so it’s a waiting game now."
Warrilow has always said players should leave Ashford for the right reasons and so far, they have.
He said: "We knew Danny and Sam Corne weren’t going to re-sign. I’ve been speaking to Maidstone for the last couple of weeks about Corney so I knew he was going there.
"It’s full-time training, which is a massive difference. If you get injuries you get treatment every day and the boy deserves it.
"He was a pleasure to manage, a top lad, great habits, never late and I can’t speak highly enough of him.
"Toby’s gone to Braintree and Cokes went to Wealdstone so all the boys that have moved on have gone to Conference South. I don’t where Danny Parish is going to end up.
"It’s a frustrating time but we are where we are so we just get on with it.
"The boys that want to play higher (will leave) unless you give them £1,000 a week and we’re not in that category.
"Corney’s an ambitious lad, Danny has always wanted to get back into the full-time game and these boys, with full-time training, will only get better.
"Cokes has got over his injury concerns, he had a good season last year and he’s benefitted from that – and Toby as well.
"They’ve all moved on two steps above, which is a credit to the football club."
