Ashford’s rising young star in the jumps Dwyte Smith leaping to a county best in the U17 triple jump soaring to 14.31.

And Jack Green gave them a great start with a county record in the under-17 400m hurdles in 54:64 shattering the previous best.

It was a weekend for records with 16 championship bests over the two days in the sunshine.

Rachel Hanagan powered to a hat-trick of county title in the U17 age group clinching her gold in the long jump with the last jump of the last event for a thrilling climax.
