Ashford boss Tommy Warrilow will keep things simple when the Nuts & Bolts resume training.
Warrilow’s side are due to return to Isthmian South East action with a home game against Haywards Heath on December 12, although that is yet to be confirmed.
They are hoping to be free to train when the Covid-19 lockdown ends on December 2 and have several sessions lined up before the Heath game.
Warrilow has no intention of bamboozling his players.
Speaking before the government's new tier 3 placing for Kent, Warrilow said: “Some of the training sessions you see these days look like the M25 - there’s cones everywhere.
“Some of the terminology and the things that go on now are a little bit over the top.
“It’s all changed, I’ve changed a lot, but sometimes people do over-complicate it.
“The reasons why you lose games are you don’t take your chances, you let in crap goals or you don’t play well.
“You categorise those three and work on it but, more importantly, you have to make the lads feel like a million dollars and get them enjoying their football.
“Your career goes just like that, you don’t want to be piling pressure on yourselves.
“We do have a go at them when we lose but we praise them when we win.”
The Isthmian League announced a return date of December 19 but clubs were free to start a week earlier if agreeable to both parties.
That suits Ashford and Haywards Heath and now it’s a case of getting ready for December 12.
The Nuts & Bolts’ last game was a 3-2 defeat by Sevenoaks on October 27 and they’re keen to build momentum from 11th place in Isthmian South East.
Warrilow said: “It’s been a messy start because we never had the two Saturday games before lockdown with Guernsey pulling out of the league and Cray Valley still being in the FA Cup, so we’ve not played that much.
"Results haven’t reflected our performances this season but I’ve been doing this long enough to know if we keep playing the way we are, we will win more than we lose.
"We should have more points but we’ve got to get on with it.
"We’ll train on the 3rd, the 5th, the 8th and 10th and hopefully be ready.
"We’re a club who rely heavily on functions at the ground - weddings, birthday parties, that sort of thing.
"We’ve lost all that income with the pandemic and cut our cloth accordingly but we always set our targets high.
"We made the play-off final two seasons ago and had just been knocked off top spot last season before the lockdown came in.
"We’ve had to rebuild but we want to kick on again. We’ve been fortunate to bring in some quality players and I know the results will come.
"I wouldn’t say anyone’s really stood out yet. You can take everyone being roughly the same, as long as they’re not all having nightmares!”
