Swadelands lift trophy

After coming so close to winning the Intermediate Boys (Year 9/10) Trophy in 2007 at the Ashford Schools athletics championships, Swadelands School finally won the competition with an extremely impressive performance across all events. Out of the 12 events in the year 10 section of the competition Swadelands was winners in seven events, 2nd in two events and 3rd in three events.

For the year 10’s Lewis Elliott won both the 100m and 200m, Ryan Harris won the high jump and the triple jump. Gary Lockyer won the long jump and Richard Cole won the shot, both representing Swadelands for the first time in a District Athletics event. The relay team, made up of Adam Tickner, George Wrigglesworth, Gary Lockyer and Lewis Elliott, ran out comfortable winners to round of an excellent win for the year 10 boys team.
