Tenants Kennington look set to play the first game of the new 3G pitch at Homelands.
Ton have announced their Southern Counties East Premier Division match against Whitstable on Tuesday night will go ahead as scheduled.
That means they’ll get to play on the pitch before landlords Ashford, who have invested £500,000 on the replacement 3G.
The Nuts & Bolts had been aiming to play tomorrow’s Isthmian South East match against Merstham on the new surface but couldn't get the work finished in time.
That game will be played at Chatham Town instead, with Ashford’s first fixture back at Homelands now due to be a Velocity Cup tie against Hythe on Wednesday night.
Kennington have played 14 league and cup games on the road this season and can’t wait to get back to Homelands.
Speaking before the confirmation, Ton boss Dan Scorer said: “All I can say is we’re really looking forward to being back in front of some local support.
“We’re very grateful to those supporters who have travelled to every away game so far.
“It’s really meant a lot to myself and the boys.
“The boys can’t wait to play in front of all their family and friends.”
Kennington’s long wait for a win was bittersweet for Scorer after a crazy 7-4 victory in the Kent Senior Trophy.
Finn Dent and Ryan Philpott doubles added to Kyron Lightfoot’s opener as Ton led 5-0 at one stage in Saturday’s First-Round tie.
Greenways closed to within two goals at 6-4 down before the visitors clinched victory.
Mo Cham and Craig Calvert were the other Ton scorers as the visitors set aside their struggles at the foot of Southern Counties East to progress in the cup.
Scorer said: “It was a much-needed win and a nice feeling come 5pm after waiting eight weeks for a win but, in all honesty, I found it bittersweet.
“In a game where you score seven goals, you should never concede four.
“Defensively we were abysmal and I made that very clear to the players.
“In the position we’re in you take any sort of win but it was the manner in which we let ourselves down after going 5-0 up, to gift them four goals, that wasn’t good enough.
“It became like a circus in the last 30 minutes.
“It was so open for both sides. It felt like there was a goal every two minutes.
“That said, I’m delighted to still be in the competition because we had a good run in the cups last year and a relatively good run in the FA Cup this year.
“Sometimes you need the cups if things aren’t quite going to plan in the league.
“It can be a nice break where mentally you step away from your league struggles and focus your energy on something else.
“It’s nice in that respect but the performance wasn’t anywhere near the level I expect.”
Kennington are without a game tomorrow.
