Ashford Town 0 Tonbridge Angels 1
Ashford Town ended their pre-season campaign with a single goal defeat against Ryman League Premier Division side Tonbridge Angels.
An opportunist second-half winner from Luke Piscina won the game for the visitors in a game that had few chances.
The Nuts and Bolts, with the start of the season just a week away, rested a number of players carrying injuries which meant Tony Browne, Danny Lye, Sean Ray, Paul Jones, Josh Willis and Lee Hockey all missed out. Daniel Brathwaite made a welcome return to Homelands after agreeing a new deal at the club and started at the heart of the defence.
Both sides made the usual pre-season friendly substitutions as the game looked certain for a draw until Piscina struck. With 20 minutes left, the striker took a Westcott pass and shot past Jamie Riley in the Ashford goal. It was the only real bit of quality in a game that lacked goalmouth action.
