Ashford Town manager Steve Lovell goes into this weekend’s game at Corinthian-Casuals in determined mood, after his side progressed to the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
The Nuts and Bolts took care of Leatherhead to set up a tie at Kingstonian, but Lovell is keen to stress that his side will take it one game at a time.
“It was a tough game on Saturday,” he said. “We played very well and should have been two or three at the break. But after they pulled back to level the game we battled well and eventually got what we deserved.
“We’ll look forward to the Kingstonian game, but we’ve got to take on Corinthian-Casuals and Leatherhead again before that game. Both matches will be tough. Despite Corinthian’s lowly position, they’ll compete and put up a good fight so we’ll have to be sure to match them. If we do that we should win the game.
“The same can be said of Leatherhead. They are a good team but if we can reach some kind of consistency we know we can win.”
Danny Lye (thigh) is the only major doubt for Saturday, but Lovell wasn’t ruling him out of a return. Lee Hockey (back) is a slight doubt but is expected to fit. Mark Lovell remains side lined.
