TOP Kent football referee Martin Yerby has landed another prestigeous appointment at the start of the new season.

Yerby, a regular assistant referee in the Premiership, will be on the line for the FA Community Shield between Chelsea and Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday, August 5.

The appointment reflects the high regard the Football Association hold for the Ashford man and is a great way to start the new season.

He also finished last season at the stunning new stadium in London as assistant referee in the Football League Championship play-off final between Derby and West Bromwich Albion.
