Bus driver arrested after two children injured in bus crash in Watling Street, Bexleyheath

A bus driver has been arrested after two young children were injured in a crash this morning.

Police were called to the incident in Watling Street, Bexleyheath, near the junction with Halcot Avenue, just after 9am.

A nine-year-old girl was taken to hospital and her injuries are being treated as life-threatening.

A five-year-old boy was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The children are siblings who were with a family member at the time of the collision. Officers are providing support to their family.

The male driver of the bus was arrested on suspicion of dangerous and drug driving.

He has been bailed until early November.
