Appeal for witnesses and footage after man dies in Sidcup collision

A man has died after being hit by a car in Sidcup.

Police arrested a man and are appealing for information following the collision in Halfway Street last Friday.

Met Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called to treat a 35-year-old man at 11.22am.

He was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, but despite the efforts of medical staff he died in hospital yesterday.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving.

He was later bailed pending further inquiries to a date in early November.

Detectives from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for any witnesses, or other drivers with dash cam footage, to get in contact with them.
