A new cinema has opened on a high street at the site of a former Blockbuster Video.
Three-screen cinema Storyteller, on Sidcup High Street, opened on Thursday, June 15, and also features a bar, coffee shop, live performance space, community hub and Sidcup Library.
The video rental store closed more than a decade ago after the company filed for bankruptcy and the site lay empty as an eyesore until 2017 when Bexley Council bought the premises.
As the town’s first cinema in 23 years, Storyteller will show latest releases, event cinema and special screenings.
Customers can watch newly released films including The Little Mermaid, The Flash, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Storyteller will be open from 10am until 11.30pm each day, with the first films starting at 11am and the last films starting at 9pm.
Compound Coffee, the building’s coffee shop, is open from 8.30am to 6pm on Mondays through Saturdays, and from 9am to 6pm on Sundays.
