Man cleared of two rape charges after reported incident in Bexley

A man accused of two rape attacks has been acquitted following a trial.

The 40-year-old, of Patriot Square, Bethnal Green, east London was arrested in Greenhithe on October 12 following the alleged incident two days earlier.

He pleaded not guilty after appearing before magistrates leading to the trial which concluded on November 8.

A jury at Woolwich Crown Court returned a not guilty verdict and acquitted Mr Davis following directions from the judge.

He was cleared on both counts of rape.
