A man in his 20s has died after a crash on a busy main road.

Police were called at 3.32pm this afternoon to a collision between a moped rider and a car in Sevenoaks Way, St Paul's Cray, Orpington.

Ambulance and fire crews both attended the crash near Nugent’s Shopping Centre.

The London Air Ambulance was also seen landing nearby.

However, the moped rider who is believed to be in his early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were road closures in place while emergency services dealt with the incident and inquiries continued but it has since been reopened.
