Fatal Biggin Hill motorbike crash victim named as Vincent Thompson

A teenager who was killed in a motorbike crash has been named.

Vincent Thompson was among two teenage boys found injured by an off-duty police officer following a collision in Main Road, Biggin Hill just before midnight on Sunday June 9.

Both boys were given first aid before paramedics arrived, but 17-year-old Vincent was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said his family were informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Floral tributes were left at the junction with Sunningvale Avenue on Wednesday, with more than 20 grieving teenagers at the scene.

Mourners also left letters and balloons, with one person describing him as “the most kind-hearted boy ever”.

A Gofundme page has been set up by friends to help the family with funeral costs.

It reads: “He had a big impact on everybody’s lives that knew him and he means so much to a lot of people.

The second boy involved in the crash was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and taken to a south London police station where he was later released under investigation.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on Monday (June 10) on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was taken to a south London police station and was subsequently bailed pending further inquiries.

Inquires continue to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
