Two teenagers have been convicted of murder and another with manslaughter after a man was stabbed in the chest and killed.

Alfie Kibble,18, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old were convicted yesterday (August 30) for their parts in the murder of Gabriel Petrov Stoyanov in Bromley.

The Old Bailey heard that Gabriel, 21, was at a pub in Sydenham on November 4 last year before getting on a bus home with his friend whilst intoxicated.

He had boarded the bus two stops before the defendants got on, and CCTV evidence found that Gabriel tried to engage with the group.

He was described in court as acting in an “annoying” manner towards the trio and he flicked the ear of one of the teenagers at one point.

At that stage they didn’t appear to be troubled by Gabriel’s behaviour, however his attention was not welcomed.

Gabriel and his friend got off the bus in Rangefield Road and the three defendants got off two stops later at St Barnabus Hall.

They then walked back to where Gabriel had left the bus and were later seen on CCTV armed with weapons.

The 17-year-old had a knife in his hand, the 15-year-old was seen with a bottle in his hand and Kibble was holding a heavy motorbike chain.

The three defendants saw Gabriel in a nearby takeaway shop and hid before they jumped him as he left the building.

The 17-year-old was seen on CCTV stabbing Gabriel in the chest, penetrating his left lung, and all three ran off from the scene.

Police and paramedics were called and Gabriel was taken to hospital but died the next day.

A post mortem examination established the cause of death as a single stab wound to the chest.

An investigation led to the charge of all three defendants who were all remanded in custody.

Alfie Kibble, 18, of Manor Close, Thamesmead, and a 17-year-old were convicted yesterday after a trial at the Old Bailey for the murder.

A 15-year-old was convicted of manslaughter.

They will be sentenced at the same court in six weeks time on a date to be set.

Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen, from Specialist Crime, said: “These three teenagers murdered a young man for nothing more than revenge for his minor drunken horseplay.

“I am staggered that boys of this age, are carrying out targeted and deadly attacks against defenceless victims, which is evident in this case.

“I hope the court result will provide some level of comfort to the friends and family of Gabriel, who have suffered immeasurable pain, following his tragic death.

“No words can explain how painful it has been to lose Gabriel in such a senseless and unnecessary way...”

“My team have worked extremely hard both day and night, trawling through hours of CCTV, in order to bring these perpetrators to justice. I am proud of their professionalism and determination to reach this outcome today.”

Speaking after the conviction, Gabriel’s family said: "No words can explain how painful it has been to lose Gabriel in such a senseless and unnecessary way.

“Gabriel will always be remembered and we will keep him in our hearts forever. It’s been a long and traumatic process to get to this verdict but we are grateful that justice has been served."
