Woman left with 'slash wounds' after Bexley High Street attack

Police and paramedics have swarmed on a high street after a young woman was stabbed in broad daylight.

The 19-year-old was found with "slash wounds" by officers when they arrived at the scene of the attack in Bexley earlier today.

They had been called to reports of a stabbing in High Street by teams from the London Ambulance Service just before 5.30pm.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers attended the scene and found a 19-year-old female with slash wounds.

"At this stage, her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

"Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made."

The busy route has been sealed off in both directions between Bourne Road and Parkhill Road.
