Celebrity power couple Rio and Kate Ferdinand have announced they are expecting their first child together.

The former footballer, 41, and reality TV star, 29, who live in Bromley, announced the news on social media today.

The ex-England player has three children, from his marriage to Rebecca Ellison, who died five years ago.

Taking to Instagram, Kate said: "This crazy house is about to get a little bit crazier... every time I watch this it makes me cry, the best reaction... Baby Ferdy we are all so excited to meet you."

The couple filmed themselves telling kids, Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia, nine, the news, with the trio jumping up with joy and the family embracing in a group hug.

They posted the video on Instagram for all their fans and well-wishers to see.

Rio also shared the good news on Twitter saying: "We got our wish, another Ferdinand en route!"

The couple married last year in a lavish ceremony in Turkey.

Earlier this year, they starred in a personal documentary about becoming a step family.

The show focussed on Kate's integration into the family.
