Human bones have been found in woodland in Kent, with a police investigation to identify the remains now underway.
The grim discovery was made in Biggin Hill, near Bromley.
An investigation has been launched by Met Police's South Area Command Unit following the discovery in Main Road last week.
A spokesman said: "Police were called on Thursday to reports of bones found in a wooded area at the rear of a property in Main Road, Biggin Hill.
"Forensic specialists attended the scene. It is believed the bones are human.
"Early indications are that the bones may have been present for a number of years."
Police remained at the scene today with the section of woodland still cordoned off.
