Two men have been charged in connection with the death of a teenage boxer.
Flynn Symonds, 32, of Homesdale Road, Bromley, and Louis Dawkins, 20, of Lodge Close, Rayleigh were arrested following an altercation in which 18-year-old Luke Bellfield was fatally stabbed in February this year.
They have now been charged with possession of a bladed article and violent disorder. Symonds has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
They are due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on 29 November.
Luke was attacked in an alleyway near a pub in Old Leigh, Essex, and died in hospital having been stabbed in the heart.
Police previously arrested a 17-year-old from the Isle of Sheppey on suspicion of assisting an offender and theft of a motor vehicle.
They also arrested a 17-year-old boy from Leigh on suspicion of murder.
A 20-year-old woman from Westcliff was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A 20-year-old man from Southend was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Luke had trained at Repton Boxing Club in Bethnal Green, East London, and fellow fighters paid tribute.
One on a GoFundMe page which has raised almost £8,000 for his family reads: "Luke was a loving, caring down to earth young lad."
A dispersal order was put in place around Old Leigh at the time and investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Truss previously urged grieving friends not to "take matters into their own hands".
Extra stop and search powers were also in place and detectives say inquiries remain ongoing into the death of Luke.
The teenager arrested on suspicion of murder was bailed while three other people arrested were previously released under investigation.
