Flowers have been left at the scene of a fatal crash which killed a 17-year-old, who has been described the as “most kind-hearted boy ever”.

Just before midnight on Sunday, a police officer came across a bike that had been involved in a collision in Main Road, Biggin Hill.

Two teenage boys were given first aid before paramedics arrived, but a 17-year-old was later pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been informed and will be supported by specialist officers.

The second boy was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and taken to a south London police station where he was later released under investigation.

Mourners have left floral tributes, letters and balloons at the junction with Sunningvale Avenue, with one person describing him as “the most kind-hearted boy ever”.

More than 20 teenagers were at the scene, mourning their friend.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on Monday (June 10) on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was taken to a south London police station and was subsequently bailed pending further inquiries.

Inquires continue to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
