A much respected consultant surgeon at The Princess Royal Hospital in Farnborough near Bromley has died.
Prakash Sinha, a father of two, passed away on Wednesday, October 21. He was 58.
A consultant for 18 years, he began his hospital career at Bromley Hospital in December 2002, moving to the Princess Royal when it opened in 2003.
Initially the hospital's consultant oncoplastic breast and endocrine surgeon, he was appointed medical director for the hospital in 2018.
Mr Sinha also supported a number of charities, both in India and the UK, among them the Chartwell Cancer Trust – a charity that provides support for cancer and leukaemia services.
His family have set up a JustGiving page in his memory with funds raised going to the Chartwell Cancer Trust. So far more than £14,000 has been raised.
His daughter Prajakta Sinta said: "While we appreciate the many flowers we have received from family and friends, we felt the best way to commemorate Dad, as we know he would have wanted, would be to support the charity so dear and closest to his heart."
A vigorous advocate of the charity, in life Mr Sinha had undertaken numerous personal fundraising challenges in its support including trekking the length of the Stok Kangri range of the Himalayas.
Charity trustee Michael Douglas said: "We feel immense gratitude for the contribution Prakash made to our charity over the years.
"We will miss him hugely and mourn his loss.
"We are also deeply moved that, at the request of his family, donations in loving memory of Prakash will be dedicated to our work."
