Anthony Cook stays at Welling United, who also sign Rowan Liburd and Quba Gordon

Welling boss Bradley Quinton has announced his first five signings ahead of the new season.

National League South Welling, who don't start their league matches until October, have agreed a deal that will keep popular midfielder Anthony Cook at Park View Road.

Cook was named players' player of the year last season and will form an integral part of Quinton's plans this time around.

The Wings had announced Cook's departure at the start of August but he has now put pen to paper on a new deal.

Two other familiar faces have also agreed to stay at Welling with midfielder Montel Agyemang and Nathan Green agreeing terms.

There are two new signings. Big striker Rowan Liburd joins after featuring in pre-season. He was at Hereford last season and had an unsuccessful loan spell at Dartford for a month under former Wings boss Steve King.

Also joining is centre-back Quba Gordon, who was part of the Maldon & Tiptree squad which reached the second round of the FA Cup last season.

Welling start their campaign in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round on Saturday, October 3 before a league fixture at Maidstone United three days later .
