INVICTA East Kent athlete Terri Wiley held her nerve to win gold over 1500m in the Hercules Wimbledon Open at Crystal Palace.

The meeting is the traditional curtain-raiser to the track and field season and attracted a full entry of 1,000 under-17 athletes including some from Malta, France and Holland.

Wiley ran in the under-17 1500m and finished strongly after losing the lead on the second leg to triumph in a AAA Grade IV time of 5minutes 13.5 seconds. She was also sixth over 800m in 2.35.1.
