Kent Cricket Club is auditioning for a new squad of cheerleaders to add some glamour and sparkle to this summer’s Twenty20 cricket season.

Applicants must be 18 or over and the trials will be held at the St Lawrence ground in Canterbury on February 1 and February 3 from 12pm to 6pm.

Club marketing officer Tanya Nicholls is also a qualified dance teacher and will be looking for 10 girls or boys to form the Spitfire Sweethearts.

She said: “They should come with plenty of enthusiasm and be prepared to perform a short solo dance or cheer routine to showcase their skills.”

Entrants should be available for the early evening matches on June 12, 17, 24 and 26 and July 6 and successful squad members will be paid for their performances.
