Air ambulance called as crash on A28 near Chilham leaves man seriously injured

A man has been left in a serious condition after a car left the carriageway of a main road.

Police and paramedics were called to the A28 Canterbury Road at Chilham, near Canterbury, at about 7pm yesterday to reports a person had been injured.

Ambulance crews were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service.

One man, thought to be the driver of the car, was treated at the roadside before being rushed to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford in a serious condition. His age has not been confirmed.

Police say the crash took place after a car left the carriageway.
