A pedestrian has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after being hit by a lorry on the A2.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision on the Boughton bypass between Brenley Corner and Canterbury just after 6.30pm on Tuesday.
Pictures from the scene showed traffic at a standstill on the section of road between the M2 and the Harbledown junction for Canterbury city centre.
An air ambulance could also been seen flying overhead and landing nearby.
A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a report of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian at 6.39pm on Tuesday 20 August 2024.
“Emergency services attended and the pedestrian was flown to a London hospital with serious injuries.
“The road was closed in both directions while the incident was responded to and reopened at around 8.40pm.”
