An air ambulance was called to a crash involving a car and cyclist.

Emergency services were alerted to the collision at the St George’s Roundabout on the A28 in Canterbury.

Paramedics were sent shortly before 8.30pm on Friday after the accident involving a car and bicycle.

They were joined at the scene by police and the air ambulance – which landed nearby.

Speaking today, an ambulance spokesman said: “The cyclist was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to William Harvey Hospital by road.

“The air ambulance team travelled in our ambulance with the patient to care for him en route to hospital.”

A police spokesman added: “We were called to a report of a collision involving a car and a bicycle in St George's Place, Canterbury at 8.15pm on Friday.

“Officers attended along with the ambulance service and the cyclist was taken to a local hospital.”
