Canterbury's Damian Minter puts plenty of effort into this delivery against Tenterden
Alex Kemp cracked a superb 153 not out for St Lawrence & Highland Court, but it was not enough to secure a win over bottom-side Beckenham in Shepherd Neame Kent League Premier Division.
Kemp’s innings included 20 fours and three sixes and came off 135 balls.
Sean French (33) was the only other player past 20 for Saints, who closed on 274-6 from 53 overs.
Beckenham never looked likely to achieve their target and after 57 overs closed on 187-7, with French taking 3-31 and Charlie Hemphrey 2-41.
Canterbury had to settle for a losing draw against Tenterden in Division 1. Despite 3-44 from Tim Wren and 3-60 from Luke Samarasinghe, the visitors reached 234-9 from 50 overs.
Canterbury’s reply began brightly with Matt Jenkinson (35) and Samarasinghe (38) putting together a solid opening partnership.
Despite Simon Cusden’s 38 and 27 each from Paul Steer and Justin Macvicar, Canterbury fell away from the required rate and closed on 197-7.
