Arrest made after man stabbed in 'fight' in King Street in Canterbury city centre

An arrest has been made after a man was stabbed in a 'fight' which saw a large section of a city centre sealed off by police.

It has now been confirmed this was to allow investigations to take place after a man was stabbed during an "altercation" between a group of men.

The taped-off area included the junction with Palace Street.

It was reported a man had suffered "non-serious injuries consistent with stab wounds".

The victim had left the scene but was later found by officers at a local hospital.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in custody while officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

Detectives are now appealing for information.
