Caring teenagers remember The Fallen

A CANTERBURY teenager has been collecting in memory of her great uncle who was killed during the First World War. Rachel Wilsdon's great-uncle Victor's name appears on the Menin Gate because he has no known grave. He was killed in 1915.

Three years ago Rachel visited the memorial and the trenches where her uncle fought. This week Rachel joined 11 of her Year 12 schoolmates from Canterbury High School who raised money for the Royal British Legion at Canterbury's Safeway stores and in the High Street.

Fellow pupil Stuart Baker added: "It's to remember older people who fought and to remember those who died. It shows the young people are still thinking of them."
