Police are trying to track down two men after a car break-in in Canterbury.

CCTV images have been released after the front window of a Skoda was smashed while parked in Simmonds Avenue in Wincheap, and a satnav stolen.

Officers investigating the theft would like to speak to the pictured men, who were seen running down a nearby alleyway on CCTV afterwards.

The theft happened at around 1.13am on March 27.

PC Amy Hemingway said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may be able to help us identify the men in the CCTV. We would be keen to speak with them in connection with this theft."

Drivers were also warned to be vigilant last week after a spike in car vandalism and thefts in the city.

More than 20 incidents in which windows have been smashed and bags, wallets, cards and cash stolen, were reported in the space of four days between Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1.

The thefts have occurred in a number of roads in and around Canterbury, including The Paddock, Cambrai Court, Castle Row, Barton Road, Spring Lane, Military Road, Hawks Lane and Nunnery Fields.
