Delays are expected at one of Kent's busiest junctions after measures to funnel traffic through one lane returned today.
Restrictions have been reintroduced at Brenley Corner – at Junction 7 of the M2 at Faversham – to allow highways officials to turn Dover-bound lorries around.
Traffic is crawling towards the notorious roundabout where the M2, A2 and A299 Thanet Way meet, with tailbacks stretching in all directions.
Two lanes have been reduced to one to allow HGVs heading for Dover or the Channel crossings to be diverted to rejoin the Operation Brock queues on the M20 at Junction 8.
The system aims to keep the M20 moving when services are disrupted across the Channel.
Kent County Council announced the measures had been reintroduced shortly before 3pm today.
Meanwhile, Operation Brock is active on the M20 coastbound between Junctions 8 and 9.
The coastbound carriageway is closed and the contraflow on the M20 London-bound carriageway has re-opened.
All HGV's heading to the Port of Dover and Channel Tunnel must join Brock on the M20 at Junction 8.
While helping to reduce congestion approaching Dover, the traffic management scheme has caused severe congestion on the roads around Brenley Corner.
Motorists were warned the disruption at Brenley Corner could continue until the end of this month after restrictions were lifted over the Easter weekend.
