Two arrests after driver smashes into parked cars during police chase in Downs Road, Canterbury

Two men have been arrested after a car crashed into parked vehicles during a police chase.

Police say the car was seen being driven suspiciously and failed to stop for officers at about 11pm in Downs Road, Canterbury, last night.

During the pursuit, the vehicle collided with multiple parked cars.

Images show one car on its side near a wall at one of the properties on the residential street.

Two men have now been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and remain in custody.

A neighbour, who witnessed the aftermath of the incident, said: “I was just trying to get to sleep then I saw sirens through my window.

“I then heard a big bang and one car hit a parked car which flipped.”

Both men were taken to hospital as a precaution and no serious injuries have been reported.
