Farming World’s equipment will go up for sale at an auction at the end of the month.

A range of farming antiques, catering equipment, machinery, play and educational equipment and portable buildings from the now-closed attraction near Faversham will be sold off on Friday, November 29.

The sale is being held on behalf of Farming World’s owners Georgina and Darren Watson who announced they were leaving three weeks ago.

Land owner Michael Older will reopen the farm in Easter next year but wants new equipment and animals.

The auction will take place at the site in Chalky Lane, Boughton and will be run by the BTF Partnership. Highlights include:

• Indoor soft play unit with sides for under 5s and under 12s, two-tier split-level 40ft x 24ft and a range of associated play equipment.
• Vintage farming equipment including a 1930 Davidson threshing machine in working order, a Bamfords rolling mill, cake breaker and root cutter, Bentall roller mill, various horsedrawn Kent & Sussex ploughs and cultivators, a Tetts hop press, hand tools and sundries.
• Kitchen equipment including Lincat fryers, a chip scuttle and heated cupboards, display fridges and cabinets, freezers, stainless steel tables and shelving.
• Farm machinery including a Ford 7740SL 2wd tractor, Hardi 12m sprayer, Standen bed maker, diesel bowser, rides trailer with 32 seats and waterproof canopy, hay racks, pig arcs, hurdles and troughs etc
• White marquee 70ft x 30ft and a green and white marquee 40ft x 20ft and three tiered viewing stands.
• Shop stock, shelving and display counters.

Stuart Sillars at the BTF Partnership said: “There is a real variety of items which will be auctioned. There is no lotted catalogue so anyone interested is advised to come along on the day to see what is included in the sale.

“All purchased lots must be cleared immediately with in-situ lots by arrangement.”

Viewing will open at 10am on Thursday, November 28, and the sale starts at 10.30am the following day.

A fellow farming attraction has offered to lend a hand to Farming World by adopting a few of the animals.

Kent Life, near Maidstone, will be taking on a Shetland pony and two micro pigs.

General manager of Kent Life Emily Hirons said: “We’re very excited to be welcoming the animals. They are both friendly breeds and should fit in really well.”
