Faversham boss Justin Luchford believes his side have overachieved in their first season in the Ryman League and now wants his players to finish off with a flourish.

He is still upbeat despite a seven-game run without a victory and said: "We are going through one of those spells when we can’t buy a win.

"Nobody gave us a hope in hell of making the play-offs and now I want to get to the 50-point mark as quickly as possible and then we can relax".

Faversham who have slipped to 10th in Division 1 South, travel to Godalming on Saturday looking for the win that will achieve that mini-milestone.

The present run is in sharp contrast to the previous seven when they went unbeaten.

Luchford (pictured) added: "We deserve to be there and worked hard to be there.

"I couldn’t ask any more of my players against Ramsgate on Tuesday.

"We battled hard and they played on the counter-attack for 70 minutes which is a credit to us. We also created 16 chances to their five."

Damian Abel returns against Godalming after a two-match ban, but Dane Luchford, sent-off for the second time this month during Tuesday's 2-0 home defeat to Ramsgate, is facing a lengthy ban.
