Faversham Town are gearing up for an Easter weekend which could make or break their promotion hopes.

Derby games against Hythe Town and Sittingbourne carry enough spice in their own right and all three clubs still harbour hopes of making the play-offs in Ryman League, Division 1 South.

Ray Turner’s side travel to Reachfields on Saturday to face Hythe in what could be a play-off dress rehearsal.

And the Swale derby follows 48 hours later, with Sittingbourne needing a win at Salters Lane to keep their season alive.

Turner said: "Games are running out so it’s a pivotal weekend for a lot of sides.

"It’s two games in close proximity and most people are playing derbies, so with the number of Kent clubs around the top-eight, it has to be pivotal.

"If you lose both games, it puts you at a massive disadvantage but if you win two, it takes points off your rivals.

"It does mean there’s more of an edge to these games. These are two cracking games to look forward to.

"We’re in a position a lot of clubs would swap for because our destiny is in our own hands."

Whatever happens on Saturday, the visit of Sittingbourne on Easter Monday will have a big say in the direction Faversham’s season takes.

Turner said: "We could be out of the play-offs or we could be going for six points to give ourselves a real chance, Sittingbourne is our proper derby. We’ve got Whitstable and Herne Bay but this is still the Swale derby. It’s the biggest game we’ve got left so hopefully we’ll get a crowd of 300-plus."
