Fencing worth £1,000 has been stolen from a building site in Thanington.

Police are appealing for witnesses after 25 metres and rail fencing was swiped from a site in Cockering Road between 4pm on Saturday, March 19 and 8am on Monday, March 20.

Sgt Lee Thompson of the Canterbury Community Safety Unit said: "We are asking anyone who witnessed the theft, or has since been offered the fencing for sale, to contact us.

"The offenders would have needed a vehicle to take the fencing away, so if you saw a vehicle in the area between those times, we would like to hear from you."

Anyone with information should call police on 01843 222289 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting crime reference number ZY/10984/17.
