Police tape off footpath near Beverley Meadow in Canterbury after woman attacked

Police taped off a footpath after a late-night attack on a woman.

The victim reported being assaulted in the alleyway leading to Beverley Meadow in Canterbury at about 11pm last night.

Officers were called to the scene near Beaconsfield Road, in the St Stephens area of the city, and cordoned off the route while they investigated.

Police tape remained at the scene this morning.

A spokesman said: "It was reported a man assaulted a woman at around 11pm on Sunday 28 February 2022.

"She did not sustain any injuries.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."
