Former dancer elected as Lord Mayor

A FORMER dancer has been elected as the new Lord Mayor of Canterbury.

Conservative councillor Carolyn Parry, who used to dance on TV shows including Morecombe and Wise, Little and Large and Jim Davidson, is now a mother-of-four who lives in Chislet, near Canterbury.

She was elected unopposed as the civic head at this week's annual meeting of the city council.

The new Sheriff of Canterbury is Liberal Democrat councillor, Charlotte MacCaul who lives in Thanington in Canterbury.
