Almost 100 people trekked 5km along Tankerton slopes on Sunday to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease.
Outspoken TV presenter Janet Street-Porter and the Lord Mayor of Canterbury Ian Thomas got the charity event underway, with walkers strolling from Whitstable Castle to Swalecliffe skate park and back.
All money raised on the day will went to the Alzheimer’s Society.
One of the organisers Nicola Ansley said: “The aim of the event was to raise as much awareness of Alzheimer’s as possible.
“Luckily we had really nice weather and about 80 people took part.
“Janet Street-Porter kindly volunteered to come along and support us because she’s been touched by Alzheimer’s. She’s my hero; I love her to bits.”
