An appeal has been launched after a plaque placed in memory of murdered Julia James has mysteriously disappeared.

Julia, 53, was tragically killed while she walked her dog in countryside near her home in Snowdown, near Canterbury, on April 27 last year.

Callum Wheeler, 22, was found guilty of her murder on Monday.

That night, a plaque created in memory of Julia was removed from Aylesham village square, where it has lain since her death last year.

The ceramic slate - which had been placed on the Miners' Wheel memorial and bears the hashtag '#JusticeforJulia' - is said to have been taken away between 6.30pm and 9pm.

Police are now appealing for help tracing it.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances to determine whether any criminal offences have been committed.
