The weekly show will be presented by Aled Jones from St Martin’s Church, in Holmes Road, Canterbury, this afternoon (March 31).

In a statement shared online earlier this week, the Diocese of Canterbury announced the news.

The Diocese said: “The news is out. Songs of Praise will be presented from St Martin’s Church, Canterbury, by Aled Jones on Easter Sunday.

“Aled joined the congregation last month for a special recreation of their Dawn Service and Liturgy of the New Fire.”

A spokesman for the church said: “St Martin’s Church is a hidden gem, and we hope that our appearance on Sunday will draw more people to come and see our beautiful church for themselves.”

Canterbury Cathedral will also feature in the show.

Songs of Praise is the world’s longest-running religious TV programme, and first began airing in 1961.

This week’s episode will air on BBC One at 1.30pm.
