Canterbury: Police release e-fits after gang bursts into home in Pearmain Walk

Four men who forced their way into a home and threatened the occupants with a knife are being hunted by police.

The gang - who all had their faces partially covered - burst into a house in Pearmain Walk, Canterbury.

Their demands for cash proved unsuccessful but they did steal a number of knives from the kitchen before leaving the property.

It is said they left towards Spring Lane in what is believed to be a green metallic 4x4 vehicle.

All of the suspects are described as being white males.

Following the incident, which happened between 1.25pm and 1.35pm on Wednesday, August 8, officers have been trawling through CCTV footage and examining automatic number plate recognition software for traces of the vehicle.

DNA samples were also taken from the victims clothing which has been sent for analysis.

Detectives have also interviewed a number of potential witnesses and recently the victim of the incident has helped officers compile two e-fit images.

DC Mark Huttley said: "Clearly this was a very distressing incident for the occupants of the house and we are keen to hear from anyone who has any information about the burglary or can name any of the suspects."
