This was the damage after a lorry careered into the side of house in Wingham earlier today.

The upstairs window of the property in Orchard Close was pushed back into the bedroom after the crash at around 10am this morning.

Police and structural engineers were called to secure the safety of the home, which is currently up for sale with Elgar's estate agents for £165,000.

Police spokesman Jon Green said: “A lorry hit the side of the house in Orchard Close, so we closed the High Street at the junction of Staple Road while it was investigated.

“Structural engineers have been called to look at the building and assess the damage.”

The building is currently unoccupied and nobody has been reported injured following the incident. The High Street was reopened by police at around 1pm.
