Brit Award nominee Jessie Ware will headline at this summer's Lounge on the Farm festival.

The 28-year-old singer-songwriter (pictured right), who narrowly missed out on the British Breakthrough award, will perform in Canterbury on Saturday, July 27.

Her appearance was announced today as organisers released the second wave of acts performing at the Merton Farm festival.

Others confirmed include New Zealand star Willy Moon, ska band Man Like Me, Scratch Perverts, Tribes and Kent band Broken Hands.

Festival bosses said in a statement: "We are really excited to announce Saturday night’s headliner is Jessie Ware, a proper female pop star with soulful, melancholic vocals and an effortlessly elegant song-smith."

Artists already confirmed to play in Canterbury include American blues singer Seasick Steve and dance group Soul II Soul.

The three-day festival starts on Friday, July 26, and adult tickets cost £100.
