FAMILY and friends are grieving for a 'unique and loveable' teenager who died in a road accident on the Canterbury ring road.
Robert Sherwood, 18, was on his way to work on his scooter when he was involved in a collision with a bus and a Citroen Saxo in Military Road.
Police closed the road for three hours to conduct an accident investigation.
The former Chaucer School pupil worked for removals firm Jordan and Jarrett and was travelling to their premises in Marshwood Close off Sturry Road when the accident happened shortly before 7.30am on Monday.
Robert's death is the second tragedy to strike the family. His father, Clive, who was also known as Rob, was killed in a road accident at Brenley Corner, near Faversham, 12 years ago.
Robert had recently moved in with his sister, Leanne, 21, at her home in Querns Road, but he had previously lived with his mother Linda Sherwood for many years in Sussex Avenue until she moved to Dover. He also leaves an elder sister, Sarah 23.
Mrs Sherwood said: "It has devastated us all. Robert was unique, extrovert, loveable and always had a smile on his face. He had very many friends and the ability to make anyone happy, no matter how down they were feeling."
