Herne Bay man charged with abduction of teenage girl

A man has been charged in connection with the abduction of a teenage girl.

Justin Wells, 33, of Leighville Drive, Herne Bay, was arrested after the youngster - who had been reported missing on Thursday night - was found yesterday afternoon.

The widespread search to find her had involved police dogs and a helicopter.

Wells has since been charged with taking a child without legal authority or reasonable excuse from a person having lawful control of the child.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
