Canterbury: Police release e-fit of a man who approached a teenager and grabbed her by the wrist in Gas Street

Police have released an e-fit of a man they would like to trace after a teenager was approached in Canterbury.

A man, who was wearing a white t-shirt, grey three-quarter length tracksuit shorts, and spoke with a foreign accent approached the girl at the entrance of Gas Street, near Castle Street car park between 2.55pm and 3.55pm on Sunday, June 18.

The suspect approached the teenage girl and grabbed her by the wrist.

Police have released an e-fit of a man they want to identify

The victim pulled away and she ran in the direction of the High Street.

The man is described as in his late 20s, with tanned skin and messy, brown medium-length hair.

Police believe he may have left the scene in a black, hatchback car.

Officers investigating the incident are keen to speak to anyone with information about the alleged offence or the identity of the suspect.

Witnesses are asked to call the appeal line on 01843 222289 quoting reference number ZY/26139/17.
